The TRS-80 Epoch is an ambitious project to document all things TRS-80 related. At this stage the scope includes documents (manuals, books, magazines, comics, newsletters etc), publishers of those documents, user groups and bulletin boards. The project has gone through several iterations in an effort to find the best balance in product and technology features to deliver this site. One of the key drivers of requirements is the sheer volume of documentation that existed (and still lexists) for the TRS-80 line of computers from Radio Shack.  Initial estimates were 4,500 but that has now been revised and could go as high as 10,000. 

It would be remiss of me to not acknowledge the many TRS-80 enthusiasts out there who provide TRS-80 documentation on their web sites. They make a  stunning contribution to the hobby and the preservation of the much loved TRS-80 computers. The TRS-80 Epoch is not meant in any way to decry the wonderful contrbution they make. But this site had to do much more. It has to be METADATA rich and provide a more formal and standards based way of cataloguing all things TRS-80. It had to provide a search facility that catered for the casual user as well as the advanced user and users looking for specific information. 

I can't begin to count how many copyright holders there might be here but our objective is not to tread on toes but to preserve this material in a highly organised and meaningful way that supports preservation, discovery, research and learning.
